2005 Australian Peacekeepers 5 Coin Silver Set

This set was issued in recognition of the personal efforts and sacrifices made by Australians who have served and are serving as United Nations Peacekeepers in world trouble spots. The set also commemorates the 60th anniversary of the United Nations.

Australian Defence Force personnel Police and civilians have served in more than forty international peacekeeping missions.

Mintage was limited to 2 500 collections with each coin encapsulated and housed in a timber presentation case with a lid that doubles as a display stand. A numbered information booklet accompanies the set which is protected by a colourful cardboard outer box.

The five reverse designs depict Australians conducting a variety of international peacekeeping activities under the auspices of the United Nations together with a coloured representation of the relevant service's badge. The design for AusAID includes the Australian Coat of Arms.
